Original Acrylic paintings by artist Jodie Westall-kimpton, painted on linen and beautifully framed in Tasmanian Oak. ‘The Calm after the Storm’ is the emotional expression and depiction of the devastation after the 2021 storms that ravaged the Dandenong Ranges and surrounds – my home.

The sadness felt seeing 100 year old trees felled to the ground, gave me a sense that nature was weeping from this trauma.  Yet as nature so beautifully show us, the calm after the storm is where we can find solitude and strength to pick ourselves up and carry on with grace watching the new growth is coming.
