My meaning behind this work
Magpies are highly intelligent birds that are playful, resourceful, and have a joyful birdsong that reminds me of my childhood, early mornings sleeping overs at my grandparents’ house. To me they represent strength, assurance, and confidence, as they fiercely protect their young and family.

This painting is a tribute to their lineage of wisdom and strength n standing true to what is important to them, encouraging people to stand in their truth, shine their light, and own their experiences.

Each lesson learned is a building block that forms the foundation of your life, allowing you to stand tall with poise and dignity. By acknowledging your accomplishments and continuing to grow with each new step, you can own your spotlight and shine in your own light. So, go ahead and “strike your pose” with confidence and pride.
